We have answered some of the most frequently asked question about flying in below.

Do I need to book online?

Reserving your landing slot in advance online is the only way to arrive by air. Current COVID-19 guidance means that landing slots are strictly limited so we are operating on a first-come-first-served basis and allowing pilots to reserve a slot online. Slot booking closes at 9am on 30 June 2022.

What does it cost to arrive by air?

During booking we will collect the airport’s landing fee, which starts from £24 and is calculated based on your aircrafts MTOW. We’ll show you the appropriate fee during booking, but you can view the full information here: Leeds East Airport Fees (pdf). By flying in to the event you get free show access for you and your passengers.

My ideal landing time has already been reserved, will more slots become available?

Landing slots are available at 5 minute intervals from 8:30 until 15:00 on both July 1st & 2nd. Although COVID-19 guidance means that slots are more limited then normal, any cancelled slots will be returned to the available pool, so it is worth checking back in the days leading up to the show if you don’t see a time that suits you.

Where can I find technical information about landing at Leeds East?

Detailed airport information, including runway maps and approach routes can be found on the Leeds East Airport website. Prior to departure please familiarise yourself with the approach procedures and other fly-in information provided, in particular the Circuit Diagram. You can contact the airport directly with any technical queries.

How do I cancel a booking?

You can cancel an existing booking at any time by completing our booking cancellation form. We aim to process all cancellations within 5 days, at which point the time slot will be released back to the pool and can be booked again.

If you cancel on or before 29th June 2022 you will be entitled to a full refund of the landing fee we collect on behalf of the airport – which will be processed within 30 days of your request. If you miss this deadline or are unable to arrive by air for any reason you can still benefit from complimentary access to the show. Gate staff will have your details but we recommend bringing a copy of your booking confirmation email if you can. You can also use the landing fee paid as credit against a future landing at Leeds East Airport (valid for 3 months after the event).

If you need to change your slot time you should reserve your new time, picking from those available above and then submit a booking cancellation request for your old slot. In this instance we will refund your original landing fee, so you’ll still only pay once.

What happens to the information I share when booking?

We respect your right to privacy online and understand that you want to keep control of your personal information. That’s why we are committed to protecting any information you share with us. We collect only the information needed to process your booking and it will only be used by us or the team at Leeds East Airport for supporting your arrival by air and communicating important information about your reservation. What if the event is cancelled due to Covid-19?

If the show is cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19 or a lockdown imposed by Government or the local council we will aim to inform you as soon as possible. Any pilot with an existing landing reservation will be given priority access to book a replacement slot on the new show date.

What happens if bad weather prevents me from flying in?

If you are unable to fly in to the event due to weather conditions you will still be entitled to complimentary event access if you are able to arrive by another means. Gate staff will have your details but we recommend bringing a copy of your booking confirmation email if you can. You can also use the landing fee paid as credit against a future landing at Leeds East Airport (valid for 3 months after the event).
